We have worked on multiple events for MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences within the last year, providing virtual events specific to celebrating the 'engineering and physical sciences' Suffrage Science awards. These events have been run with 100's in attendance.
Creating the virtual events for LMS has enabled them to reach global audiences for their virtual award ceremonies that otherwise would not have been achievable due to travel cost constraints.
The virtual events were created on our bespoke platform, enabling LMS to have their custom branding and a multitude of other custom features such as:
'Slipper picture uploading' - A fun element to the event for delegates to interact with.
Other features included:
Due to safety limitations on-site a strict number of delegates were allowed on-site to view the topping out, which meant LMS needed a way to share the experience with those that could not attend at home.
We stepped in and created the perfect way for those at home to still feel involved.
We stepped in and created the perfect way for those at home to still feel involved.
Starting out with multiple HD cameras on-site we filmed all the speeches, room angles, and on-site audience and live streamed this out to those watching at home. To enhance the experience, we brought in a drone, the drone was piloted around the building offering 360-degree views to both audiences in the building (via TV's) and at home via the live stream, we focused on landing and taking off from the building's roof to give the experience to the home viewing audience as if they were entering the building.
Equipment on-site overview:
To provide the remote delegates at home with some interactivity we also included Q&A and commentary functionality so they could voice their support throughout the ceremony too.
We had an excellent day on-site and received fantastic feedback from not only the delegates on-site, but some great comments from the delegates watching from home too.
We'd like to offer special thanks to the building contractors for being so accommodating whilst we setup for such a special event.
"The Medical Research Council's London Institute of Medical Sciences (MRC LMS) have used Amplitude Event Solutions/Orcula for several events over the last year, including two virtual women in science awards events (that pre-pandemic would have been in-person), and a hybrid topping out ceremony for the Institute's new building.
Matt and Chris have been an absolute pleasure to work with. They helped us to translate our awards online, offering solutions and suggestions when needed. They were adaptive, proactive and reactive, and the feedback received from senior management and guests were incredibly positive - praising the professional look of the platform and the smooth nature of the event.
For our women in science awards events, we were able to reach a larger audience than normal (approx 3 times) and people from across the world were able to engage, which fitted well with the global nature of the awards. We were also able to re-use the platform for our second event, saving us time and money.
For the hybrid Topping Out ceremony, as well as producing another high-quality platform, Matt and Chris have provided great support in the management of all on-site aspects of the event.
We have been extremely happy and reassured working with them both, and would highly recommend to others looking to put on virtual, hybrid or in-person events."
